What are natural essential oils - Aromatherapy Oils?

Depending on the species of plant, essential oils are extracted from the petals, leaves, roots, buds, twigs, rhizomes, wood, bark, resin or fruit. In a few cases, every part of the plant growing above ground is used. There are several ways of obtaining the oil, the most common being steam distillation. This involves putting the plant material in a large, closed container, known as a vat, and forcing steam through it. The heat and pressure release the tiny droplets of essential oil from the plant, which then rise with the steam, out through the spiral tube. This cools the steam and turns it back into a liquid, the essential oil (being generally lighter than water, will float on the top and can be skimmed off.

Lavandula Officinalis, a sweet, floral, but a crisp herbal scent with a balsamic undertone. The safest among essential oils and used extensively on babies and children. It is relaxing and soothing and can be helpful in reducing stress and high blood pressure. Many individuals use lavender to promote a blissful sleep and serenity. CR4 C5 Specifications

A Russian perfumer named Earnest Beaux formulated this famed perfume in 1921 for Gabrielle Chanel. There are lots of stories about the origin of this scent but my favorite goes like this. Beaux came up came up with five different scents and since Chanel was in the midst of a horrible headache, she instructed him to leave the bottles on the mantel. Minutes after he left, she sprang from the sofa and began sniffing the contents of the bottles. It seems that the fifth bottle caught her attention and bottle number five was chosen. Five was also her lucky number. True or not? No one really knows except Chanel herself. Today it remains one of the world's largest selling perfume.


A fragrance she designed to be unique, incisive, and subtle. No. 5 is considered a timeless classic.
